Equipped with a microphone and a MiniDisc recorder you can find myself anywhere collecting audio atmosphere from the environment that surrounds us.
The following fieldrecordings were taken in Andalucia (Southern Spain) in July 2005. The first one is a classic: The rush of the (mediterranean) sea. I was standing on the beach where there was a little spot of broken shells. Whenever the waves were rushing over the million parts of the shells (and then running back to the sea) they produced a beatiful noise, that reminded me on silicic pouring down on itself. Just listen what I mean: >>fieldrec__Rush
One night I was sitting on the roof of the appartement I was living in. In the foreground there was the concert of cicadas going on and in the back a movie ("The Incredibles" dubbed in Spanish) was shown in the local open air theatre. I wasn't able to see the movie, but I could hear some dialogues and more important the score and special sound effects - was it the showdown of the heroes? >>fieldrec__Cicada vs. Cinema.
The third fieldrecording was taken in the mountains. I spent a couple of days in las Alpujarras - the southern part of the Sierra Nevada. In the garden of my landlord I took the sounding of two wind chimes hanging in a small apple tree. This recording is let to chance. The strength of the wind influences the movement of the chimes and of the leaf. You could also hear the humming of Diptera and Hymenoptera, the singing of a warbler and distant voices. >>fieldrec__Suria Chimes.
Don't miss my other nice fieldrecordings filed under soundmarks.

The latest soundmark project concentrated on the city of Cologne and is called "Cologne via balcony": One week long I took recordings, in order to have the aural scenery memorized and to compare it's varying contents and the intensity of the sounds themselves. Listen
